Pelvic axillary scales extendover proximal bases of anal fin, forming a sheath.Lower body profile more convex than upper profile.Anal fin origin slightly behind a vertical from the posteriorend of dorsal fin base. Pigmentation above and belowlateral line pores obscured on caudal peduncle. Anevident dark stripe between hypaxial and epaxial muscles.Gill rakers short. Peritoneum silvery with dark pigmentations.Inhabits upper riches of rivers, in clear, welloxygenated,low in pollutions waters below 20°C, with astony bed and almost neutral pH and bushy shore.
