Over all color yellowish with some br ownblotches and 5-7 brown bars on posterior body and irregularbrown blotches on anterior body. Dorsal and caudalfins barred. Belly and lower head whitish. Peritoneumlight gray. Lateral line almost complete. Scales presenton flanks. Caudal fin slightly to strongly forked. Caudalpeduncle crest absent. Three pairs of thin hair-like barbels.Pectoral fin rays 2-5 thickened in males. Elongatedand S-shaped gut. Maximum total length 76 mm. Minimummaturity size 44 mm total length. Food includeaquatic insect larvae and other aquatic invertebrates.
