Maximum age 8years and total length 54 cm. Females slightly heavierand grow faster and longer than males. Growth rapiduntil five years of age. Maturity at 2-3 years. Spawningfrom late May to early July with a peak in mid to lateJune at 20-22°C, in shallow waters, over sand, stoneand gravel beds. Food mainly include fish, also, aquaticinsects and plants.
